Email Retargeting Impacted by AdRoll's Launch of SendRoll | Jason McClain Blog

What Is SendRoll?

AdRoll intends to take email retargeting to the next level with their latest offering called SendRoll. For those who are unfamiliar with retargeting, if you have ever viewed an item on Amazon and then checked your Facebook feed only to find the item you just viewed in the sidebar, that is retargeting. What SendRoll does is utilize that same email retargeting technology in the form of email to improve email marketing results. The first numbers are impressive. Enrico Casati, founder of the e-commerce retailer Velasca said they are seeing a “50% open rate with 11% click rate”.

Intriguing. So how does it work?

A customer visits your website and enters their email address, but leaves before making a purchase. SendRoll generates an email to that customer based on the items they viewed or left abandoned in their cart. The customer is prompted to return to your site and complete their purchase through the power of SendRoll’s smart messaging.
